I can provide face to face home visits, during the day or weekday evenings, in the area surrounding Cheddar including Somerset, North Somerset and Bristol.
My clients self refer, although this can be on the suggestion of a health professional or via health insurance.
Initially we will have a brief discussion when you ring to book your appointment and I will usually e-mail you some preparation for the session e.g. a lifestyle questionnaire, food diaries, vitamin and mineral supplements taken and aims of your visit, which I will ask you to return before the session so that I can prepare in detail. If I feel that you would be best to see another dietitian, with different specialist knowledge, I will be able to recommend an alternative registered dietitian in Somerset.
A one hour initial consultation includes an in-depth discussion of your previous and current dietary intake, medical history and physical health. This will be followed up by a written report including meal plans and practical suggestions. Advice will be tailored to you with realistic and achievable goals. This can include support for family and carers.
At least one follow-up session is recommended lasting half an hour to an hour as required. This can be by phone.
For NHS Trusts, schools etc I can visit and run a longer clinic to see several clients in a single session.
I do not offer Skype appointments, as I am a Somerset dietitian, working in my locality. Experience has taught me that if both of us can take the time to meet face-to-face the session will be more informative and supportive.
